Agróptimum Nursery

Pistachio agronomic innovation hub

An innovation ecosystem where we develop pistachio plants that set new standards in health, productivity, and agronomic efficiency.

Grafted plant

Each graft combines innovation and technical excellence. Our health control and genetic selection ensure trees ready to offer quality, productivity, and stability in the field.

Own laboratory

We have our own laboratory where science and precision become a guarantee of quality. There, the team analyzes and supervises each plant, ensuring that all meet the highest standards.

State-of-the-art facilities

With a unique infrastructure in Europe, every corner of our nursery is designed to care for each plant, from the root to the field, ensuring quality, performance, and future.

The keys to high-performance pistachios.

Combining innovation, technique, and attention to detail, we develop healthy, uniform trees capable of producing in less time. Specific treatments and comprehensive care ensure superior quality and performance.

Here you have six aspects that demonstrate their excellence:

  • Taproot

Strong and well-developed root system, which favors the anchorage of the tree and better soil exploration from the early years.

  • Greater homogeneity

Uniform plants in size and development, which facilitates crop management and ensures a balanced evolution of the planting.

  • Greater productivity

Selected plants to offer a high productive potential, favoring an early entry into production and stable yields.

  • Guaranteed healthcare

Strict phytosanitary controls throughout the cultivation process, ensuring healthy plants free from diseases.

  • Graft in nursery

The grafting is performed under controlled conditions of temperature and humidity, achieving a success rate of 98% and guaranteeing a strong and stable union.

  • Balanced vigor

Controlled vegetative development that allows for strong, regular, and well-structured growth, facilitating adaptation to the field.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

A nursery plant develops under controlled conditions of temperature, humidity, and health, which allows for the production of more uniform, healthy trees with better field performance. This reduces failures in planting and improves the crop's development from the outset.

We use the rootstock UCB#1, a variety proven for its high resistance to diseases and its adaptability to different soil types. All the rootstocks are produced entirely in our nursery: from the seed, through the jiffy, and then in a vertical 5-liter pot until reaching the optimal size to graft the pistachio plant. This total control allows us to ensure strong, healthy roots ready for vigorous growth and stable performance in the field.

Throughout the entire cultivation process, periodic phytosanitary controls are carried out in our own laboratory, ensuring that the plants are free of diseases and in perfect sanitary condition before their delivery.

A well-developed root system, especially with a taproot, improves the anchorage of the tree, the absorption of water and nutrients, and the adaptation to the soil. This translates into better establishment after planting and a more stable long-term development of the crop.

Yes. The varieties used have been selected and tested for their adaptation to the conditions of the Iberian Peninsula, taking into account factors such as climate, soil, and productive behavior.

The plants are delivered with balanced development, well-formed roots, and appropriate structure for their proper establishment in the field, facilitating rooting after planting.
